The Vacation Trip
Manila to Dumaguete City, and then Dumaguete City to Sta. Catalina.
It’s time everyone flies. Yes, Cebu Pacific Air! Manila – Dumaguete: 1 hour and 5 minutes.
Last April 15, I went home. My place is in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental. Have you heard about my place? If you are not a “Bisaya” I’m sure you don’t. How about Dumaguete City? – you don’t still know Dumaguete City, how about Silliman University? Okay, never mind. Well, my place is in the south of Dumaguete City and can be traveled by means of land transportation (not on air, nor on water) either BUS (ceres liner) or Van L300 (V-hire), and would take about 2 hours. It is really a long ride. But I’m sure you will enjoy for there are a lot of good views to see along the road.
Last April 24, it was the “desperas” (date before the fiesta celebration) my cousins and friends stayed at home. Our house is very cute and unfinished. There are 3 rooms – one is occupied by my Tita, who is working in Dubai. The second room is occupied by Sister with her husband and two kids and the third room is occupied by my cousins and friends – which means I don’t have a room. HEHE. And my two close friends in college arrived. My parents (Mama and Papa) decided to stay at the old Nipa house near the new unfinished house.
Inside the new unfinished house.
In front of the house, you will see the unfinished finishing (finishing means the beautification of the walls using cements, or whatever you may call it. I’m not a mason). The door is made of Nara which about 10 years old and you will noticed that the varnish faded already and there’s already cracks and the door nob is not working properly. When you happen to look above, you will see the newly finished “kisame” (ceiling) worked by my father.
There’s a divider furniture full of kids toys, dvds, cds, books under, photo albums, TV, DVD player, figurines and everything – which means it wasn’t look that nice. HEHE. And on the side the CD/DVD component with two big box speakers. In the kitchen, the refrigerator and of course the gas burner. One comfort room at the middle of the two rooms. And the floor is not yet fix, we are using floor mats with different colors.
The Guests.
My Tita (Father’s side) from Misamis City with her Kulit daughter Sha-sha arrived two weeks before the fiesta. My Tita (Father’s side again) who works in Dubai is also visiting us with her 3 kids. (one boy and 2 daughters both in College). Okay, no longer kids. They are already adults.
My cousin Abing brought her friends (good friends) and one of them is my crush when I was still in college, the female lead vocals of the band Koofelas – but that was before, people changed. But she doesn’t, she’s still sexy and cute. If you look at her, you can think she’s just in the teens (18-21). Looks like she never aged. HEHE. And she’s really has a good voice. I like her. Two thumbs up! okay, make it four including the toes. HEHE. My cousin introduced her friend (the band girl) to me, and I’ve just say HI…but deep inside, I can say more than that…like, HI and HELLO! HEHE. I like to have a conversation with her but I was afraid. I’m not that good in conversation.
My cousin Star is with her BF – part Chris. And I’m with my two close friends – Evapz and Kevo. And we watched Naruto Shippuden Episodes. And also, my cousin in the neighboring town is present who companied us to the quadrangle – where the party is happening!
The Drinking Session.
Of course, fiesta is about thanks giving to the Patron Saint – Santa Catalina de Alexandria which is almost forgotten by many. Some of people in our town celebrates fiesta because of the visitors, friends and relatives and not as thanksgiving. They think or believe (for some) that it is an obligation in doing so, which is NOT! Let’s accept the truth that even if we don’t have any or can’t afford to spend for the fiesta celebration, we still find ways to get money – either utang (lending money) or savings. I’m not saying it is bad, what I meant was… let’s be practical…let’s offer what we can afford. Right? HEHE.
So, food and drinks are available. And I requested my Mama to buy RedHorse Beers for my friends. And early that night, we started the drinking session. Like what they said, drinking is more fun when it is in done in the crowded place. So, we decided to hit the road and went to the disco place. There’s no problem in the entrance for my cousin has the tickets for the four of us – Evapz (only girl), Kevo, Jeje and Me.
The band is already playing, but we don’t like the music. The music sucks. It was for the aged and senior citizens. Sorry about that. But really we don’t enjoy the show. I think the band is from Dipolog city, if I have to choose…I preferred the Vanilla (they’re live at the Metro Walk – Mugen every Monday night) to perform. HEHE. So, we decided to get a table and order RedHorse beers. And the drinking begins…more beers! beers…and beers… And I wake up in the bed early in the morning. HEHE.
That was fun.
